My immigration story

In my life, an important event is my family is immigration to Canada in 2009. When we received our landing papers, we were very hesitating because we knew that living in a new country surrounded by new people and new culture can be both exciting and stressful. In our new life in Canada, we would face many challenges, such as culture and language differences. But we finally made the decision to take this challenge. On June 25th, 2009, my 15-year-old son, my husband and I left our belove country, parents and friends for Toronto. During the first few months, we felt everything was new and interesting. we went downtown, Niagarall Fall,Thousand Island,Ottawa, etz.
After a few months, we have to face all the challenges. we missed our friends and our relatives in China. My husband hunted around for a job, but he could not succeed because he didn't have Canadian education background and didn't have Canadian work experience. I felt very confused and disappointed about our future. I often asked myself whether we made a correct decision for immigration. I started to complain to my husband. After few weeks, I realized that I should cope with this challenge because a negative attitude cannot help. Then, I have been trying to fit in to this community, such as by learning English at LINC school, making new friends, etc. I was very happy that my son likes his school and his classmates. my husband is attending a Co-op program. Gradually, I have gotten a good understanding of how to adapt life in Canada. Six months later, my new friend helped me got a job as an assembler.
Even though we still have some difficulties, I have gradually learnt how to overcome them. This August, my husband received his professional job letter as a technician. I am very happy. I realized that I should change myself. Based on the research, I find that the demand for job in accounting is very great, so I am applying to take a training program. I believe that upon finishing this training. I will be very confident to work in the accounting field.
This is my immigration story.
